Elyria Construction

Howard Elyria Municipal Courthouse. This state-of-the-art courthouse was named after Judge John A. Lorain Construction
Based in Lorain County since 1948, Bay Mechanical & Electrical Corporation has worked on many projects right in their backyard. What started as a company initially providing sales and service in the heating-refrigeration, television and small appliance repair eventually evolved into a merit shop contractor providing mechanical and electrical services. Starting in the 1970’s, our Ohio construction company grew to include many high profile projects in Lorain including the Lorain County Administration Building, the Lorain County Jail, the Ford Motor Co. Water Treatment Facility in Lorain and more.
Since then, we’ve continued to get involved in projects in Lorain County. As a Lorain, Ohio design build contractor, we’ve gained notoriety as a reliable design and construction partner in the Lorain community and beyond. Most recently we were contracted by the Elyria Wastewater Pollution Control Plant in Elyria, Ohio for our design build services. This project included the design and construction of an addition, as well as the rehabilitation of the plant’s existing West Headworks Building.
Existing equipment required demolition and the design and installation of new equipment were included in this project. Bay Mechanical & Electrical Corporation installed a new skimmer, grit classifier, influent bar screen, odor control system, two 10,000 gallon ferric chloride tanks, pumps and controls and new electrical and HVAC systems.

Sandusky Construction
Bay Mechanical & Electrical Corporation’s longstanding working relationship with the Ohio Veterans Home (OVH) has granted us many opportunities for Sandusky, Ohio construction projects. The OVH facility employs a dedicated staff to offer exceptional long-term, around the clock medical and nursing care to qualified veterans. The home also provides domiciliary care for those who are able to function in an independent living situation and those who need supervised care but do not require the level of care provided to nursing home residents. Regardless of the level of care provided, the staff at OVH provides an excellent quality of life to our veterans.
To ensure that the residents at OVH receive the best care possible, the home contacted us to work on their heating and cooling systems in various buildings. Most recently, we were granted a contract to upgrade the cooling system for the Veterans Hall building. This project included new piping, equipment and control upgrades for the cooling system in the building.
Prior to beginning this project, we installed new steam and condensate distribution piping and HVAC equipment and controls for their heating systems. Multiple buildings throughout the facility received upgraded heating systems as a part of this project.

Solon Construction
Bay Mechanical & Electrical Corporation provides high quality construction services in Solon, Ohio. Our Solon construction services were put to use at the Nestle Professional Customer Innovation Campus (NPCIC). The NPCIC is a 67,000 square foot, 3-story facility that allows Nestle to work with their customers to help provide them with creative branded food and beverage solutions. Nestle works with food service operators to develop innovative and insightful solutions on how to provide appetizing menus that cater to local tastes. Food service operators can draw on the knowledge of Nestle chefs, food technologists, product developers, and marketing and culinary management professionals.
Bay Mechanical & Electrical Corporation was responsible for the HVAC and plumbing portions of the project. Our construction company provided NPCIC with two 1,300,000 BTU boilers, a steam process boiler system, circulation pumps, piping and a compressed air system. On this Solon construction project, we also installed 12 exhaust and six supply fans, six kitchen exhaust hood systems, six large HVAC rooftop units, 55 VAV boxes and all associated ductwork which was fabricated in our sheet metal shop. All of the systems are controlled by a complete building automation system.
